Frequently asked questions
Do you need a car in Thessaloniki?
Not for the city. For Halkidiki, Olympus or Vergina a hire car gives you the most freedom, especially out of season, when buses are less frequent.
How much money do you need per day in Thessaloniki?
Excluding the flight and accommodation, plan on €35-55 a day. It's among the cheapest destinations from Tirana, with generous portions and lower prices than in Athens.
What documents do I need?
Greece is in the Schengen area. Albanian citizens with a biometric passport enter without a visa, for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your return date. Biometric data is recorded at the border (the EES system), and the ETIAS online authorisation is expected to become mandatory: check before you leave whether it has come into force.
